Simple Special Stunning - October '09

The purpose of "Simple Special Stunning" is to show how each issue of SheetLoad can be adapted for papercrafters of all levels. Whether it is sticking exactly to the sketch, or adding some extra bling.

This month's cards were created by Katie Skiff and feature the sketch from our October '09 issue of SheetLoad of Cards.

• Matted the designer paper on layers of cardstock
• Changed PP3 to cardstock and added some ribbon and a bow
• To jazz up the main panel a scalloped cardstock mat was added

• Added a different piece of ribbon for some extra pattern
• Cut out the main image panel with a Nestabilities die from Spellbinders
• Embossed the red mat with Glassy Glaze to match the sparkle on the designer paper
• Used snowflake ghost shapes by Heidi Swapp for more embellishments

All very simple additions... each making the card more attractive.

Perfect examples of each step up. I love the red and light blue color combo -- it's so fresh and festive, too!
